Ran Ai

Ran Ai (乱合) is a newer series created in the Bakumatsu period (1850–1867). It is commonly taught as the third series today.

It contains only two kata, nearly identical in movement, but performed with different swords – one with the long sword (Odachi) and one with the short sword (Kodachi).
