Okuden

Inner Transmission (奥伝)

Suwari-waza • Tachi-waza

Okuden (奥伝), also called Oku-iai, represents the advanced level of the school. It is divided into two groups: sitting techniques (Suwari-waza) and standing techniques (Tachi-waza).

Sitting techniques are performed from Tatehiza, just like in Chūden. The Itomagoi kata, despite being a sitting form, is traditionally performed at the very end as a farewell.
