Kumitachi
Paired Practice (Kenjutsu)
Kumitachi (組太刀) represents the Kenjutsu (swordsmanship) part of the curriculum. It is rarely taught today, usually only to advanced students to understand distance (Maai) and timing.
Two series are most commonly taught: Tachi Uchi-no-Kurai (drawn sword combat) and Tsume Iai-no-Kurai (drawing situations).
